Simple interest formula

I=prt
I is the interest
p is the principal, money you begin with
r is the annual rate of interest (percent)
t is the time in years

If you are ever given months instead of years you will need to divide your months by 12 to get your t value

3 months would = $\frac{3}{12}=0.25$
