The Founding of Plymouth

 1.Twenty percent of all gold and silver went to King James.

2. All colonists had the rights of Englishmen.

3. No law made could be contrary to the king’s law. 

4. The colonists could only trade with England. 

5. The colonists were exempt from taxation. 

6. The charter did not establish any religion, so the people had the freedom to worship in their own way. 

The London Company would provide the ships and supplies for the journey, and the colonists committed to work for the company for seven years.



1. There were 102 people.

2. Forty-six were Separatists.

3. Thirty were non-Separatists (Strangers).

4. Thirty-six were crew members.

5. Twenty-one were servants to various passengers.

6. There were two dogs and several other animals.
