What is a quote?

What is paraphrasing?

Rewording a direct quote.
Takes an idea and puts it in my own words

When to use a quote and when to paraphrase

Use a quote to be direct and share a person's exact words
Use paraphrasing to shorten a long quote and show you understand the words.
