Present Continuous

Subject pronoun + am/is/ are (Verb To Be) + The main verb + -ING

To most verbs add -ing to the base form of the main verb
Ex.: Talk  $\longrightarrow$  Talking 

For most verbs ending in -Y, just add -ing to the base form of the main verb
Ex.: Play  $\longrightarrow$  Playing 

For verbs ending in -e, drop the -e and add -ing to the main verb
Ex.: Love  $\longrightarrow$ Loving 

For verbs ending in -e, drop the -e and add -ing to the main verb
Ex.: Love  $\longrightarrow$ Loving 

Double the consonant for verbs ending in one vowel and one consonant, as well if the 2nd syllable is stressed and add -ing to the main verb
Ex.: Put  $\longrightarrow$ Putting
