manipulated variable:the amount of water inside the glass

responding variable: the pitch of sound made by tapping the glass with spoon

constant variable: the size and shape of the glass, the force used to tap the glass

3 drinking glasses

1 liter of tap water

steel spoon

pour a glass with water to the brim

pour another glass with water half of the glass

pour a little bit of water in the last glass

tap the glass filled with water and listen to the pitch of the sound

repeat tapping the other two glasses and compare the pitch of the sound made

record your observation

observation by hearing
