Potential/Kinetic and Solar Energy

Sometimes the kinds of energy overlap eachother

So, its not always clearly potential or Kinetic

Energy from the sun is Solar Energy

Solar energy can power calculators and other small electronics

These use solar cells to change the light into electricity

The sun also gives off several different kinds of radiation

Light is the radiation we see

Heat is the radiation we feel

X-ray and ultraviolet are the dangerous kinds that we don't see or feel

Also gives off radio waves- That's the static you hear on the radio

Without the Sun, Earth would be just a big ball of ice

The heat is what allows life

The light allows plants to make food and give off oxygen

The sun is the source of all the energy(fossil fuels et) and all the weather

Uneven heating is what gives us wind and the water cycle

Light can generate electricity( calculators, outdoor lights, and even cell phone chargers

Provides electricity for homes that are far from electric lines

Heat swimming pools

The suns energy is free but the panels are expensive

Lastly some places don't get all that much sunlight
