He is taller than her: Man hängt ein "-er" am Ende und man braucht "than = als"

bigger than; faster than; stronger than; funnier than; greater than...

but she is more intelligent than him: Mit längere Wörter und Wörter mit "-ing", darf man kein "-er" am Ende hängen. Man verwendet stattdessen "more ... than".

more boring than; more beautiful than; more exciting than...

She is as fast as him (Sie is so schnell wie er)

but she is not as strong as him. (sie ist aber nicht so stark wie er.)
