In this context " de" means 'of.'

As you can see from these two examples, there is no apostrophe s in Spanish (like Juan's and Jaime's)
In place of the apostrophe s we use the word "de"

Write complete sentences that tell who owns the objects in question. Make sure to pay attention to whether the objects are singular or plural, and use the appropriate verb form. Follow the example below.

"a" as a preoposition
We can use a as a preposition plus a pronoun that precedes the verb gustar. In Spanish, the word a means 'to.'

A ti – To you A ellos – To them (masculine)
A él – To him A ellas – To them (feminine)
A ella – To her A ustedes – To them (formal)
A usted – To him/her formal
