Recognize these to know how to play!

Clef

Found at the beginning of each line, they determine what notes are on each line and space.

Orchestra instruments use these:

Alto: Viola

Bass: Cello / Bass

Treble: Violin

The Staff

Measure / Bar Lines

Bar Lines are vertical lines that create and separate measures.

Each measure needs to have the amount of beats found in the Time Signature

Time Signature

Top Number: How many beats are in each measure.

Bottom Number: What type of note gets one beat.

Repeat Sign
