Reflexive Review

A reflexive element must match the subject (expressing the same person) and can be either in the accusative or dative case, depending on its function in the sentence.

The reflexive element would be in the accusative if the subject is also the direct object. You cannot have any other direct object in the sentence for this to be the case.

The reflexive element would be in the dative if the subject is also the indirect object in the sentence. This requires the presence of a direct object!
