Suffix

Today, we're going to learn about the suffix -ion and -sion. You can add them to the ends of words to change the word from a verb (action word) to a noun (person, place, thing, or animal).

Work by showing the quality or state of something. For example:

discuss/discussion

Discuss is the action of talking about something with a group of people.

Discussion is, thing, a conversation or debate about a certain topic.

Let's look at the word infection.

Infect/ion

Infect is the action of contaminating with harmful organisms.

Infection is the state of being infected. It is now a thing.
