A sentence that contains a single subject and a single predicate

For example," Anna rode the bike"

Single Subject: Anna

Single Predicate: Rode

Once again, how did we know "rode" was the predicate?

"The bear was huge"

Is this a simple sentence?

Simple Subject: Bear

Simeple Predicate: Was

A conjunction is a word used to connect two or more full ideas

Common conjunctions: FANBOYS -> For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So

But do not confuse with adverbs like: however, nonetheless, consequently, therefore

A sentence made up of multiple simple sentences and they are connected through a conjunction

Example: "Anna rode through the park, and her sister caught up."

1st Simple Sentence: Anna rode through the park

2nd Simple Sentence: Her sister caught up

In a compound sentence, and a conjunction is used, a comma is required to go before the conjunction

"The keyboard was broken, so Bob bought a new one"

1st Simple Sentence: The keyboard was broken

2nd Simple Sentence: Bob bought a new one

A comma + conjunction is needed to connect these simple sentence
