past simple

Las oraciones en afirmativo contienen básicamente esta estructura:

Pronombre + WAS/ WERE

 Ejemplo:

I was her friend. (Yo fui su amiga).

You were asleep. (Tú estabas dormido).

Para negar las oraciones, lo único que se debe de hacer es agregar NOT después de mi verbo To Be (tal cual se hace en presente simple) o bien hacer uso de las contracciones WASN’T / WEREN’T.

Pronombre + WAS/WERE + NOT

Ejemplo:

Last month, we weren’t in Brazil.

Two hours ago, you weren’t in the bank.

I was not in the party

Si deseamos hacer preguntas utilizando el verbo to be en pasado entonces seguiremos la siguiente estructura:

WAS/WERE + Pronombre + ?

Ejemplo:

Were you born in July? Yes, I was / No I wasn’t

Were you in the party? Yes, I was / No, I wasn’t
