5
CORRECT!
FEMALE part of flower also called as Gynoecium.
MALE part of flower is called as Androecium
Refer to the next slide for details.

Gametogenesis
Have you ever heard about this word?
What does it means by gametogenesis?
8
Multiple Select
What do you think Gametogenesis means?
The development of female and male gametes.
The development of female and male gametes.
9
Bravo! You answer is correct!
*clap clap
10
How male gametes and female gametes was formed in flowers?
The male and female gametes need to undergo the process of gametogenesis which is called as microgametogenesis for male and megagametogenesis for female.
11
Where is the process of Gametogenesis will take place?
The process will take place in....
Male gametes = Pollen sac
Female gametes = Ovule
12
Development of Pollen & The Male Gametes
The male organ flower are the androecium.
The anther usually is made up of four (4) elongated pollen sacs.
Each pollen sac contains a mass of dividing cells that called as microsporocytes, also known as pollen grains or pollen mother cell.
Each microsporocycte divide by meiosis to form 4 haploid (n) or microspore.
13
Development of Pollen & The Male Gametes (cont..)
Two nucleus (2) of each microspore then divide by mitosis to form a two unequal cells (generative and vegetative cell).
The vegetative cell (also known as pollen tube cell) will form a tube from the stigma to the ovary.
The generative cell forms male gametes/sperm cells.
14
That's all about what happen in male reproductive organ and the development of male gametes.
Should we move to female gamete formation? Let's go!

18
The image on previous slide explains about what is inside the ovule. Each cell has a distinct role.
Synergid cells function as the producing center of the signals which guide the pollen tube cell.
Antipodal cells is to provide nourishment to the egg cell.
Polar nuclei are the two nuclei situated at the central position of the embryo sac that fuse with the male nucleus.
19
FERTILIZATION is the fusion of the male and female gametes tp produce a zygote.
Remember:
The pollen grain produce the male gametes.
Embryo sac produces an egg cell and polar nuclei.
20
