chose a rocky harbor to settle and named it Plymouth

In the spring they met Native Americans that helped them figure out how to grow food to live

1630 another group arrived from England for religious freedoms

They had already learned important lessons from those who had already settled

the first small group went over to start the colony and then more came once it started

settled in an area of Massachusetts and named it Boston

grew rapidly and economy thrived

fishing, fur trading, and ship building

1,000 people came to Boston it was the largest city for 100 years
