Commas and Compound Sentences
Always use a comma with a coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) when connecting two independent clauses.
FANBOYS- for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
Independent Clauses are clauses that have a subject, verb, and complete thought. (They could be sentences by themselves.)
Ex. The girl was waiting for her Uber, for she needed to go to the store.

Commas and Introductory Elements
Use a comma to separate an introductory element from the main clause that follows.
Mild exclamations such as well, oh, yes, no, or why
