READING EXERCISE

My favorite book is called Around the World in 80 Days. It's the story of a man who makes a bet that he can travel around Earth in less than 80 days. Of course, these days that's not difficult, but the book is from more than 100 years ago.

I love the idea of adventure and exploration, so it's no surprise that my favorite TV show is called The Amazing Race. It's a really exciting show. Teams race against each other around the world to win a big prize. There are two people on each team, for example: a husband and wife, a father and son, or best friends. It's important that they have a good relationship because the race is really difficult and they need to be strong and help each other.

The race takes them all over the world, and they use a lot of different types of transportation. They use planes, of course, to make the longer journeys, but they also use boats, taxis, buses, helicopters, bikes, cars, trains – any type of transportation that makes their journey quicker.

At the beginning of each show, the host gives the teams ideas about where they have to go. The last team to arrive at that place leaves the show. When there are only three teams left, they race to the final place. The team that arrives first usually wins a lot of money.

I love this show because you see a lot of really exciting places all over the world. One day I want to be on the show.
