Seismic waves are the waves that travel within Earth due to rocks breaking apart or an explosion at the surface.

Body Waves are the faster seismic waves, and they travel through Earth's interior.

Two types of body waves: P-waves & S-waves.

Surface waves are seismic waves that travel only through Earth's crust.

They travel slower than body waves, but they're responsible for almost all of the damage that occurs from an earthquake.
