Use your forearms to create a flat platform

Do not swing your arms

Stay low and have a flat back

Usually the first contact during the play

Use your fingers to create a soft touch

Be parallel to the net

Use your legs to help get the ball up

Usually the second contact on the play

Have a fast arm speed

Hit the ball with an open hand and at your highest contact point

Use your shoulders to determine where the ball goes

Usually the third and final contact on a play

Extended your arms above your head and open your hands

Read the hitters shoulders to determine where they are hitting

Press your hands over the net

This does not count as one of the 3 touches

Have a high toss

Contact the ball at your highest reach

Have an open hand

The first contact to start a rally
