Mammography. The most important screening test for breast cancer is the mammogram. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast. It can detect breast cancer up to two years before the tumor can be felt by you or your doctor.

Hormonal therapy is use when hormonal receptors (eg. Estrogen and HER-2) and may includes medications which block the formation or effects of estrogen. (Remember, Estrogens are natural hormones that are important in sexual development and other body functions. Higher amounts of estrogen in the blood are linked to an increased risk of breast cancer in women after menopause.

Tissue biopsy from bronchoscopy and CT guided fine needle aspiration is typically done to form histopathologic diagnosis.

Adenocarcinoma . Adenocarcinoma presents more peripherally as peripheral masses or nodules and often metastasizes.

Change in bowel habits . Constipation, diarrhea, and/or constipation alternating with diarrhea are the most common symptoms of colorectal cancer.

Polyps . Colorectal polyps are common with colon cancer. Duodenal ulcers and hemorrhoids aren’t preexisting conditions of colorectal cancer. Weight loss — not gain — is an indication of colorectal cancer.

Large cell carcinoma. Large cell carcinoma is a fast-growing tumor that tends to arise peripherally.

Alcoholic cirrhosis. This type of cirrhosis is due to chronic alcoholism and is the most common type of cirrhosis.

Elevated serum aminotransferase . Hepatic cell death causes release of liver enzymes alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) into the circulation. Liver cirrhosis is a chronic and irreversible disease of the liver characterized by generalized inflammation and fibrosis of the liver tissues.

. Risk for injury related to thrombocytopenia . The client with acute leukemia has bleeding tendencies due to decreased platelet counts, and any injury would exacerbate the problem.
