Rounding & Place Value with decimals

Rounding is the process of adjusting the digits of a number to make it simpler while keeping its value close to what it was. For example, rounding 4.531 to the nearest tenth gives 4.5.

Place value is the value of a digit based on its position in a number. For example, in the number 3.421, the digit 4 is in the tenths place, so its value is 0.4.
