Domain and Range

The set of all possible input values (x-values) for a function.

The set of all possible output values (y-values) for a function.

A way to describe a range of values using brackets and parentheses.

It includes both endpoints a and b.

It does not include the endpoints a and b.

[0, ∞) because the square root function is only defined for non-negative numbers.

[0, ∞) because the output of a square function is always non-negative.

Identify values that make the denominator zero and exclude them from the domain.

All real numbers except x = 3.

(-∞, 0) U (0, ∞) because the function never reaches zero.
