Foreign literature provides:

Insights from international research

Policies from the local government

Why is it important to include both local and foreign literature?

To balance perspectives and establish research gaps

To meet the required number of pages

Which of the following is an example of foreign literature?

A US journal article on cybersecurity systems

A DOST study on mobile agriculture apps

A thesis from a local IT university

Barangay reports on digital kiosks

Local literature is particularly useful because:

It directly relates to the local context and users

It shows the country’s limitations in IT adoption

It only presents outdated systems

It is easier to cite than foreign works

Which of the following must be avoided when reviewing related literature?

Copy-pasting without proper citation

Highlighting relevance to the current study

Comparing similarities and differences

Related systems in RRLS refer to:

Existing systems with similar goals or features

Historical events influencing the study

Why should both local and foreign systems be reviewed?

To understand strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in existing solutions

To save costs in project development

To eliminate the need for prototypes

What is the main purpose of analyzing related systems?

To identify gaps and opportunities for improvement

The features of related systems are often compared through:

SWOT analysis or tabular comparison

Which of the following is NOT usually included when analyzing related systems?

Programming codes of the system

Reviewing related systems helps researchers to:

Ensure redundancy in system design

Write longer literature reviews

The synthesis section is where the researcher:

Summarizes and connects the reviewed literature and systems

Copies the findings from related works

Lists all references alphabetically

What is the main purpose of synthesis in RRLS?

To rewrite the technical background

To reduce the number of references

To list related studies without analysis

In synthesis, the researcher shows:

How existing studies relate to and support the current project

The budget breakdown of the study

Which of the following best describes synthesis?

Narrative of how local and foreign studies connect with the current project

Independent analysis without references

The synthesis should conclude with:

The gaps the current study aims to address

A repeat of the technical background

Which question is typically answered in synthesis?

What research gaps remain unaddressed?

What are the key features of the new system?

What tools will be used for development?

What are the project objectives?

The definition of terms is included to:

Explain jargon and specialized terms for clarity

Technical terms refer to:

Words that have specialized meaning in IT or research

Words defined based on dictionary meaning

Words commonly used in daily conversation

Operational terms are defined as:

The way a term is used within the context of the study

The standard dictionary meaning of the term

Which of the following is an operational definition?

“System performance” as measured by response time in the developed app

“Database” as defined by Oxford Dictionary

“Algorithm” as a general computer science term

“Cloud computing” as defined in a textbook

Technical definition of “API” would be:

Application Programming Interface, a set of rules enabling communication between software applications

A connection between the researcher and the respondents

An operational process in system deployment

Operational definition of “User Satisfaction” could be:

A measure obtained through survey questionnaires rating the system usability

A term used in psychology to describe happiness

An application feature for login

Why are definitions of terms important in RRLS?

To ensure clarity and avoid misinterpretation of terms
