(more than one answer is correct)
Cefepime is a broad-spectrum bactericidal antibacterial agent, active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including various strains resistant to aminoglycosides or third-generation cephalosporins.
Metronidazole has been shown to be effective against the following microorganisms: - Anaerobic Gram-positive: Clostridium sp., Eubacterium sp., Peptococcus niger, and Peptostreptococcus sp. - Anaerobic Gram-negative: Bacteroides fragilis group.
Cefepime is an aminoglycoside. Bactericidal antibiotic active against Gram-negative aerobic bacteria (E. coli, Proteus sp., Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Serratia marcescens, and Acinetobacter sp.) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Metronidazole enhances the effect of cefepime by being a great transporter of bacteria that restore the intestinal flora.
