Wineteer Recess Rules

A short toot-toot whistle is to correct a behavior. Stop and listen to see what you need to do.

Equipment must stay on the black top with the exception of soccer balls. Do not use the jump ropes to tie around anything or anyone. (Hula Hoops is a big one.). Do not climb in the equipment cart. Do not bring equipment from home to recess.  No toys or bags (such as purses) on the playground. This includes fidget toys unless approved by a staff member. 

One whistle means you stop and freeze where you are. All equipment is held in your hands. Wait for a second whistle to quickly line up.

Do NOT climb on top of any bars or equipment except the Spider Web. Then you may only climb up. No hanging upside down off of bars or standing up on the top.

Your safety is our priority. Only slide down the slide feet first, do NOT climb up. Stay on your bottom on the slides. One at a time on the slide and make sure the previous person is away from the bottom before you go down.

Stay on your bottom on the swings.  For 3rd and above, only one child at a time on each saucer swing. ABC’s for sharing applies to this swing as well. Kids are not allowed to push each other on the saucer swings. The child on the swing should use their legs to kick off. Pushing allows the swing to go too high and kids will fly off.

This includes creative alternatives to the mentioned activities (i.e. Cops and Robbers, Among Us, Rainbow Friends, etc). We share the playground with other students. Please keep their safety, and yours, in mind when playing. You could easily run them over. If you are "play" fighting, teachers might mistake it for the real thing and serious consequences could follow.

For 2nd grade and under, 6 students allowed on the red spinner - 3 can stand, 3 can sit. 3rd grade and up, 3 students. No sitting on top of it. Stand and push, do not drag along with it. 

Second long whistle = line up. Keep equipment still in your hands. No bouncing, kicking, or throwing balls. Put equipment away in the basket. Move quickly to your assigned class line in your line order. Once in line, you should be facing forward, voices off, and waiting for your teacher to take you in the school.

One person in each seat and up to four people in the middle holding onto the handles. If it is too crowded, only 2 in the middle. Make sure you're holding on at all times. Keep rocking to a reasonable minimum. No rough rocking or trying to knock people off.
