Discovered the proton using the gold foil experiment. He proposed a model of an atom that had a nucleus a positive charge surrounded by a large area of empty space where electrons orbited.

Made Daltons model invalid. Protons occupy a dense central region called the nucleus. Electrons orbit the nucleus much like planets orbiting the sun.

Discovered the neutron. He concluded the nucleus also contains a particle that has equal mass to the proton. But unlike the proton, its electrically neutral.

Discovered the wave nature of electrons and suggested that all matter have wave properties.

Discovered Quantum Numbers that describe the probability of electrons location at a certain time.
