An observation that has to do with numbers and labels like 3.5 cm.

An observation that has to do with words like heavy.

Observation or Inference: I think the weather is cold.

Observation or Inference: I notice the tree by the pond has no leaves on it.

Observation or Inference: The boy fell off the branch.

Observation or Inference: There is a small sailboat in the water.

Observation or Inference: The goat pushed the boy into the pond.

Qualitative or Quantitative: There is 300 mL of liquid in this beaker.
