The newscaster who hosts the studio portion of the newscast. The anchor is the dominant voice in the presentation of the news to the audience. S/he must be proficient in writing, producing, and editing the news.

Also known as the Lineup - A chronological outline or order of stories or segments to be used in a newscast. This is the producer's blueprint for the newscast.

A script shaped like a “T’ where one describes the audio of what will be said/hear and the video to accompany it.

a short amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person.

a technique of film editing that combines a series of short shots or clips into one sequence, often set to music. The word montage is French for “assembly” or “editing.”

A Section of the newscast. It can be a string of multiple stories of similar newscasts (like a collection of sports clips for a “sports segment”) or just 1 story.
