An inference uses background knowledge and evidence to make a guess.

An inference is a fact.

The sun was shining.

Because the sun went.

The sun was about to set over the mountains.

It was beautiful to watch the sunset.

Which is what I wanted.

Now the moon is out and the stars are shining.
