• Inform, Persuade, Engage

• Your research presentation is a story, not a data dump.

• Know your audience.

Structure of Your Presentation

• Title page

• Introduction

  • Background of the study / Research problem

  • Research objectives / Research questions

  • Conceptual framework

• Literature Review - KISS

• Methodology

• Findings and Discussion

• Concluding Remarks

• Reference List

Methodology

• Goal: Demonstrate rigor and trustworthiness

• Use visuals, e.g. flowcharts, diagrams

• If your research involves intervention, briefly show us the intervention.

Findings

• Focus: What does the data say in response to your RQ?

• Use suitable graphs/charts/visuals

• Don't just show the data, but INTERPRET it.

  • Use arrows, circles, and contrasting colors to draw the eye to the key finding.

Discussion

• The link to the literature (past studies & theories)

• Can be presented after every finding

• OR after all the findings

Concluding Remarks

• Implications (SO WHAT?)

• Future direction (What's next?)

Reference List

• Only include the references for the citations in your slides

• NOT the whole reference list from your research report

TIPS

• Minimal text (not wordy)

• High contrast (text and background)

• Same font/colour palette/theme

• Images/visuals - highly relevant

• Be prepared with the details that can be shown esp. when asked during Q&A

• Practice - timing
