​ Invitation text adalah sebuah pesan tertulis yang mempunyai tujuan untuk mengundang seseorang dalam suatu acara.

1. Tujuan Invitation Text

Tujuan dari invitation text adalah mengajak atau mengundang seseorang untuk hadir dalam suatu acara tertentu. Pada umumnya setiap undangan akan ditandai tujuannya dengan menyertakan frase-frase sebagai berikut:

a. Would you like to come

b. Would you like to join us

c. I would like to invite you

d. Request the present of...
2. Struktur Umum (Generic Structure)

a. Invitee: orang yang diundang

b. Body of invitation: isi undangan biasanya berupa hal hal berikut ini:

* Occassion (Maksud/tujuan undangan)

* Day or Date (hari dan tanggal)

* Time (waktu yang ditetapkan)

* Place (tempat yang diharapkan kehadiran-nya para undangan)
c. Inviter: orang yang mengundang

a. Informal Invitation
Example: Hi guys, I would like to invite you to a dinner party. This party is held for my college graduation celebration. The party will be on Saturday, August 21", 2020 at 07.00 p.m. at my house. It's a blessing for me if you were here to celebrate my graduation.

Example:
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Charles, We write this letter in order to request your honorable presence in our company 23 Anniversary celebration. The celebration will be held on: Date : March 16th, 2020 Hours: 07.00 p.m to 22.00 p.m Venue: Grand Sahid Hotel, 10th floor meeting room We hope Mr. And Mrs. Charles would be available to come and join us. We would like to see you both there in our company's anniversary celebration.
