Job Interview Concepts:

1. Appearance

Appearance refers to how a candidate looks during the interview.
This includes clothing, hairstyle, hygiene, and overall presentation.

-Example: Wearing a suit or smart clothes shows respect and seriousness.

2. Language

Language means the words and expressions the candidate uses. It includes tone, vocabulary, grammar, and politeness.

-Example: Using phrases like 'I believe I’m a good fit for this role' instead of slang like 'I’m cool for this job.'

3. Behaviour

Behaviour is how the candidate acts during the interview. It includes body language, attitude, eye contact, posture, and how they respond to questions. Good behaviour shows confidence, interest, and respect.

-Example: Sitting upright, making eye contact, and listening carefully shows professionalism.

  • Would you hire this person based on their attitude? Why or why not?

"Tell me about yourself"

• Basic personal info
  → Name, age (optional), current studies or background.

• Academic or professional experience
  → What you’ve studied, any relevant jobs, internships or projects.

• Skills and strengths
  → What you’re good at (communication, teamwork, languages, etc.).

• Motivation and goals
  → Why you’re interested in the job or field, and what you hope to achieve.

Example:
"My name is Laura and I’m currently finishing my last year of high school. I’ve always been interested in communication and languages, which is why I’m planning to study journalism.
I’ve worked part-time in a local bookstore, where I learned how to deal with customers and manage responsibilities.
I consider myself a responsible and creative person, and I enjoy working in teams.
I’m applying for this position because I want to gain experience in a professional environment and develop my skills further."
