5

Use BRAVE

Apply a strategy

Set up an Step-by-Step Expressions:
1. How many pizzas do you need? 1 pizza =3 people so 30/3= 10 pizzas.

2. Find the cost of 10 pizzas: 10 x $12.50= $125
3. Converting percentage to decimal and multiply by total price: 20% to 0.2 (Discount). $125 x 0.2 = $25 off.
4. Apply discount: $125-$25= $100

6

Use BRAVE

Verify by checking

Does it make sense that it will cost $100 for 10 pizzas with a 20% discount?

Oringinal cost: $125
Discount: 20% = $25 off

$125-25 = $100

7

Use BRAVE

Explain the reasoning or answer

How much money will you spend if you are throwing a party for 30 students? You will spend $125 without the discount. Since we are buying 10 pizzas, then I qualify for the 20% discount. My totaly cost will be $100 with a 20% discount.
