First Principle: “Belief in One Supreme God”

• All Indonesian people believe in God.
  In Indonesia, there are 6 recognized religions:

• Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Catholicism, and Confucianism.
  We should respect differences in everyone’s beliefs.

Second Principle: Just and Civilized Humanity

• Respecting others means treating people with justice and good manners.

• Helping friends in need, showing empathy, and being kind reflect this principle.

• Example: Sharing food fairly, listening when someone is speaking, and apologizing if you make mistakes.

3rd Principle: Unity of Indonesia

Indonesia is a great nation, with many ethnic groups, languages, and traditions: Javanese, Kalimantan, Sumatra, and others.

Key Attitudes:

• Physical differences, ethnic groups, customs, and religions are not obstacles to friendship.

• Not choosing friends based on ethnicity or appearance is an example of the third principle.

• Living in harmony with family, friends, and neighbors reflects the Unity of Indonesia.

Fourth Principle: Democracy Guided by Inner Wisdom

• Decision-making should be done through deliberation (musyawarah) to reach agreement.

• Everyone has the right to express their opinion.

• Example: Family members discuss together where to go on vacation.

Fifth Principle: Social Justice for All the People of Indonesia

• Greet friends politely.

• All children may follow their hobbies without discrimination of body or gender.

These examples show us how to be fair to everyone.

• Polite greetings are not only for adults but also for friends.

• Playing football or enjoying any hobby is allowed for all, regardless of physical differences or religion.

Do not forget to be fair anywhere and to anyone.
