Contribution: Built the Turing Machine (the basic groundwork for computers) and helped break codes in WWII.

Came up with idea that computers were machines that can solve any problem if given the right directions.

Alan Turing - "The Codebreaker"

Contribution: Built the ENIAC (first large electronic computer)

​Mauchly & ECKERT- "The 1st electronic computer"

Contribution: Created one of the first programming languages (COBOL), and the first compiler, a translator between human and computer language. ​

Grace Hopper - "The Debugger"

• Contribution: Helped design the IBM PC (personal computer) and color monitor, and ability to add devices to computers like a printer.

• He also co-created faster processing chips.
