Common prepositions

Prepositions give an indication of WHERE something is.

• On (top)

• Under

• Next to

• To the right of

• To the left of

• Between

• Across from

• In front of

• Behind

• Inside

Pay attention to the prepositions

• When following directions, listen for prepositions.

  • For example: The notebook is INSIDE the desk, UNDER the science manual

  • For example: The bathroom is DOWN the hall, ACROSS from the gym.
    

• Start at the principal's office

• How would one get to the kindergarten room?

• How would one get to the parking lot?
