​Reproductive Cell Division

Reproductive cells include sperm cells in males and egg cells in females. During meiosis, the parent cell divides from one cell into four cells and passes only half of its genetic material to the new cells. This helps make sure that when a sperm and egg come together, the resulting baby has the right amount of genetic information.

​Bacteria and Ecosystems

​Bacteria are decomposers. Their job is the break down the dead materials found in nature. When bacteria break down dead materials, they release nutrients such as nitrogen. It is good for bacteria to release nitrogen back into the soil, because plants need it to grow, and if plants are growing, then animals can eat them!
