💠「おなまえは？」ー o namae wa? = “What is your name?”

1️⃣ The function of「お "o"」in「おなまえ "o namae"」

👉「お "o"」 is a polite prefix.

👉 It makes the word more respectful or polite when talking about or to someone else.


2️⃣ The function of「は "wa"」in「おなまえは？」

👉「は "wa"」 is a topic marker particle in Japanese.

👉 It marks the topic of the sentence — what you’re talking about.

💬 So, in 「おなまえは？ "o namae wa?"」, You're saying:

“As for your name…?” → meaning: "What is your name?"

👉 It's a shortened version of:

「おなまえは　なん　ですか？」ー O namae wa nan desu ka?
　What is your name?
