Partial eclipse
The moon does not totally cover the sun. Looks like a crescent moon.

Annular eclipse
The moon does not completely cover the sun. This depends on the distance between the earth and the moon.
- If it's closer a total eclipse will occur.

Total eclipse
The moon completely covers the sun and creates a large cone of shadow on earth.
- It's not visible on all parts of earth.
