We use stative verbs to talk about states and feelings but NOT actions.

​Ex. I love you so much.

There are four main categories of Stative Verbs

verbs

For example

​I agree with what you said. (Thinking verb)

She doesn't own a house. (Having verb)

With stative verbs, we don't usually use the Present Continuous tense.

Don't say: I'm liking you.

Say: I like you.

However, some stative verbs can be used with the present continuous, but their meaning changes.

For example

I'm thinking about getting a car. (Means that you're considering it)

I think I am a lucky person. (Means that you believe it)
