The Piedmont region is the largest region in SC with foothills and valleys.  

The fall line is where water drops from higher land to lower land and is located between the Piedmont and Sandhills.

The Sandhills is also known as the Old Coast.

There are many sandy hills here.

Columbia, the state capital, is located in the Sandhills region.

Has rolling hills and is covered with forests.

Not good for farming.

Charleston and Myrtle Beach are major cities in the Coastal Zone.

Many tourists visit the beaches, play golf, and tour historic places.
