​Basic structures of a plant

• Most plants have roots,stems and leaves.

• Some plants have flowers and fruits and cones. These structures help plants to reproduce.

​

• These structures ( parts ) help the plant get what they need to survive.

  • Roots are structures that take in water and hold a plant in place.

• Some roots can become food for example potatoes and carrots.  

​A leaf is a structure that make food for the plant.

​Classifying Plants

​We can classify plants by separating them in two groups.

​

​Flowering Plants: Can produce flowers and fruits.

​

​Non Flowering plants: Do not produce fruits or flowers.

​Other way to classify plants

​We can also classify plants by where they grow.

​

​For example some plants grow in the water and Ocean.

​

​Other plants grow and live on land.

​A Mushroom is a fungi

​

​They have gills to breathe air

​

​And they eat dead plants and animals.

​

​
