Central Idea of an Informational Text

Sometimes the author tells readers the central idea in a sentence.

Most often, readers have to figure out the main, or central, idea.

To determine the central, or main, idea, evaluate the details the author includes by asking, “Does this detail tell more about the central idea?”

Don't forget please write complete sentences and spell check your work.
