Identify the hypotenuse first (across from right angle)

Label opposite and adjacent based on the angle of reference

Label the side of the triangle (hyp, opp, adj)

Pick a trig ratio (sin, cos, tan) based on what you know and what you want to find

Write the ratio

If the variable is on top, multiply; if the variable is on bottom, divide
