Electoral College

More than two centuries ago, when only about four million people lived in the United States, our country's founders created something called the Electoral College

It is a group of people called electors who cast their vote for president after the votes on Election Day come in.

They are chosen by their political parties in their political parties in their home states

Each states gets a certain number of electors, depending on how many member of Congress are from the state

California has 55 electors votes because of it's population ( many people living here)

Wyoming has the lowest population it only has three elector votes
