• -ly: turns a word into an ADVERB, a word that describes an action (examples: quietly, easily)

• -ful: to have a lot of something (examples: hateful, hopeful)

• -less: to have little or none of something (examples: painless, restless)

• -able: having the ability or quality of something (examples: comfortable, portable)
