QUESTION TAGS
Questions tags are short questions at the end of an affirmative or negative sentence.
They are formed with a modal or an auxiliary verb + a personal pronoun.
When we want someone to agree with what we are saying.
Eg. That was a fun film, wasn't it?When we want to make sure what we are saying is correct.
Eg. You finish school at 3, don't you?

Types of Question Tags
Types or Rules | Examples |
|---|---|
We use negative question tags with affirmative sentences and vice versa. | - You don't like spicy food, do you? |
When the main sentence has an auxiliary or modal verb, we use the same auxiliary or modal verb in the question tag, respectively. | - You haven't seen that documentary, have you? |
When the main sentence contains a verb in the present simple or past simple, we use do/does, don't/doesn't, did/didn't. | - You often study in the library, don't you? |
