Example:
Step 1 (base x height): 7 x 4 = 28
Step 2 (Divide by 2/or in half): 28/2 = 14
Area of the triangle: 14 meters squared

Example:
We can find the area of a more complex shape by dividing the shape into rectangular parts. We find the area of each part and then add the areas of the parts to find the total area.
