A brief introduction
2
These types of transport use energy. Your cell only uses these in cases where passive transport will not work.
Active Transport
These types of transport don't use energy and are preferred by your cells
Passive Transport

Sort the types of transport based off of whether they are active or passive.
6
Diffusion is when things spread out from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration because the random motion of particles.
Moving down the concentration gradient.
7
Diffusion is when things spread out from areas of higher concentration to areas of lower concentration because the random motion of particles.
Moving down the concentration gradient.
8
Molecules that are too big (or too polar) to diffusion on their own can use the help of a gateway.
The gate/channel facilitates the diffusion of the molecule.
9
Osmosis is diffusion through a semipermeable membrane.
We will come back to this
10
Match
Match the descriptions with the correct types of passive transport
Diffusion through a semipereable membrane
Diffusion using a gateway or channel

Drag and Drop
12
There are slightly different names for this type of transport.
But the key is a protein uses energy to push molecules up the concentration gradient.

This is how your cell moves really big things in (Endo) and our (Exo).
In endocytosis, the cell membrane makes a bubble (vesicle) around the thing to bring in.
In exocytosis, the opposite happens, and a vesicle fuses with the cell membrane to release its contents.
