1. Can you recall a time when you made a promise to someone and successfully kept it?

2. Have you ever experienced breaking a promise you made to someone?

Is fulfillment of promises a quality of the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions?

Yes, fulfilling promises is a characteristic of the believers and the righteous who are sincere in their worship of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) has praised them in the Quran, as seen in the following verse:

1. Successful indeed are the believers.

2. Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.

3. And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden).

4. And those who pay the Zakat .5. And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, 6. Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;7. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors;

8. Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants;

9. And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).

10. These are indeed the inheritors.

11. Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever.

In Islam, a vow (Nadr) for kids is a special promise made to Allah (God) to do something good, like praying more or giving to charity, if Allah grants a wish, like passing a test or getting well, but it must be spoken clearly with "for the sake of Allah," be a good deed, and be fulfillable, teaching responsibility and connecting actions to faith. While kids can make them with parental permission (or even without, if possible), it's better to just do good things without vows, as Allah loves sincere acts, but if a vow is made, it must be kept, or an expiation paid,
